England led Italy 17-10 at half-time in their opening match of the 2018 Six Nations Championship at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
England wing Anthony Watson score two unconverted tries inside the opening 11 minutes. But Italy, who’ve lost all 23 of their previous Tests against England, hit back with a well-worked converted try from right wing Tommaso Benvenuti in the 20th minute.
England replied when Owen Farrell glided in for a try under the posts that he then converted.
Italy produced the final score of the half when Tommaso Allan landed a routine penalty in the 39th minute to cut England’s lead to just seven points.
