The situation of prisoners in Icelandic prisons has been under much discussion lately. We read stories about white-collar criminals serving their sentence in single-family houses at Kvíabryggja, hear that prisoners can surf the internet at will and even serve long sentences outside prison. On hearing that lie detector tests are to be compulsory from October this year reminds me of the Polygraph test the prison service allowed me to conduct on behalf of my then Client Jeremy Bamber. He passed. Both George Galloway MP and Mr. Hunter MP pressed the Home Office as to when Bamber would be released, in view of having passed five lie detector tests for five murders!
